327 Words Retirement (65) Time Trial

In celebration of bikes, beer, recreational cannabis, friends and family, another trip around the sun, the arrival of spring, the "if not the end of the pandemic, at least its movement into an endemic mode" mode, and above all, a full-on embrace of the Vanaprastha stage of life , 327 Words proudly presents the The Retirement (65) Time Trial, an alleycat-style bike race featuring loads of grown-up (and older-aged) entertainment and plenty of adult (and "older adult") beverages  beginning at 2020 Cycle at 21st and Union in Seattle, WA on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 3:27 sharp, signups commencing around 2:30 or so.

Come on out and feel your age as you sample the joys and challenges of life in the post-work world; enjoy as many of the enjoyable ways of being that might be possible if you didn't have to get up in the morning and be somewhere for the rest of your life.  Fun!

Riders, following the traditional group time trial format, will pack together 65 years of nonsense into far less than 65 miles of"racing," along with numerous opportunities to reflect on what can and will give life meaning (or at least amusement) once Social Security payments kick in.

Race happens, no matter how old you are, rain or shine, no crying or fatal crashes allowed.  Ten bucks suggested donation, (includes a $2.00 donation to Planned Parenthood) with free drinking glasses for the first 65 riders,

Prizes—cash and bike schwag—to be awarded for fastest times, men’s and ladies’ divisions, as well as runner-up positions, including, of course, DFL.

Prize sponsors and friends currently on tap or being recruited include:Portland Design WorksLiquid Courage Flasks, Pabst Blue Ribbon,  2020 Cycle, Swift IndustriesPeloton Bicycle Shop and Cafe, Cyclefab Good Weather Bike and Cafe, All Bodies on Bikes, and Deb's Lunch.

Embrace this chance to grow whole, not old, and always remember, Safety Fourth (after Truth, Beauty, and Goodness, according to Miss Jean Brodie.)

Friends, relations, and those too old to ride, but not to drink, are invited to show up at 2020 Cycle about 6:00 for more retirement-themed fun and prizes, too!
